You can do a few simple things as an ESU student, faculty or staff member to help protect yourself and others against phishing and similarly malicious attacks.  Be a good digital citizen, an always-alert Hornet and PROTECT THE NEST!

  • Wherever possible, activate 2-Step verification for account login, this is sometimes referred to as Multi-Factor Authentication or MFA.

  • When working with email, if you do not know the person do not click any links they send you and do not reply to unknown senders.

  • We are more than happy to answer questions you may have about the legitimacy of any email you receive. As a rule no ESU employee will EVER ask you for your password through email or over the phone.
